Given the fact that my generation is better educated as a whole than others, I’d like to think that we’re capable of solving some of the problems left by the previous two or three generations, but when I look at things like Tumblr, I realize that’s never going to happen.
You’d think the generation that grew up being told we could do/be anything we wanted, only to graduate college right as the economy collapsed, would be eager to roll up its sleeves and fix the grossly unfair economic system that benefits the wealthy at the expense of everyone else.
Instead, we have Tumblr… where every PC-Thug and Social-Justice-Tryhard is so preoccupied calling themselves “oppressed victims of white malehood,” that they can’t fathom banding together with their enemy, “the patriarchy” to cut the wealthy down to size.
Even when that idea is pointed out to them, they’re so distracted by the “race and sex” of the wealthy that they can’t understand that it’s irrelevant to solving the problem.
The solution is not to make more rich minorities. The solution is to make fewer rich people and enrich everyone else, white, black, man, woman, whatever.
Human history is one long struggle between the haves and have-nots, i.e. rich and poor.
The reason the rich stay rich is because they put all their effort into playing the poor against each other, just like here on tumblr: i.e. “You’re white, you have privilege. You’re straight. You have privilege. You’re male, you have privilege. You’re thin. You have privilege,” or even something as mundane as, “You like this, ergo I don’t like you. You hate that, ergo I hate you.” When the poor argue amongst themselves, fighting over who has it worse, who’s right or wrong, the rich just laugh all the way to the bank. Free tip, proletariat… YOU’RE ALL WRONG.
Wake me when my generation actually grows up and stops arguing amongst themselves about social justice, and starts focusing on the REAL problem: economic justice.
Tax the wealthy.
Stop government handouts to businesses.
Stop having kids.
Nationalize the energy and healthcare industries.

It seems like “fat-fashion” or “fatshion” is basically an excuse for girls to pretend it’s Abstract Halloween all year round.
I’m sorry, but whether or not you go outside dressed like that is irrelevant.
Does anyone in their right mind actually think this Jackson Pollack upchuck of colours looks “good” on this hipsterpotamus?
You look like a clown… and people are right to laugh at you.
Can you do whatever you want because it’s your body/your choice/your whatever? Of course… But that won’t stop people from looking and making fun of you if you post that shit online.
P.S. I do not have a problem with fat people. I am one. I just have a problem with the ones who dress like Divine.

It’s an unpopular opinions blog. No fucking duh there’s gonna be triggering shit on here. Just don’t be stupid about it.
And before people say “You don’t know what it’s like! Poor me sob sob sob I was an idiot and didn’t avoid something that I should have known would upset me.” So many things on this blog have triggered me. But instead of try to get pity for it I just get off the blog. Stop being idiots and follow my example.

Glorifying something doesn’t just mean “Guys, I have this wrong with me I’m special. Make me feel better.” It’s not talking about it as the serious problem it is. It’s reblogging ever depressing picture and then talking about how it’s the most tragically beautiful picture on the internet. It’s constantly coddling anyone that says they have these issues. It’s making it seem like it’s this beautiful, deep thing and it’s not. Tumblr makes these issues into more of a trend than anything else, anyone else, anywhere else.
And before you bitch about people glorifying these problems, take a good look at your blog, do you really not see anything that could make these problems seem appealing? Not even in the least bit? Really?
And this goes for more than just the things listed in the picture, but this is just to get it started.

All I ever see on here nowadays is either “i read books and am somewhat intelligent. I am obviously an introvert” or “I think I have mental problems. I haven’t seen a professional, but I took an online test and I reblog black and white pictures all day!”
I mean no offense to anyone who is genuinely mentally ill/genuinely has problems/genuinely had something save their life/genuinely are introverted, this post is not directed at any of you.

I personally don’t mind if someone uses marijuana. I have friends who do it, and i am perfectly fine with it. What does bother me is when people glorify this substance. I follow people who reblog pictures of it and reblog text posts about how much they enjoy being high. There are also people in school who brag about being high or having pictures of marijuana leaves on their shirt or in general apparel, and are even high in school. Now that is just annoying. It is fine that you use it but honest to god stop obsessing over it. I can understand that people like to express themselves but in the end marijuana is just a drug, and i wish people would just stop flaunting it about. Same concept applies to alcohol. If you are flaunting your substance use as possibly as an excuse of being cool or feeling rebellious or whatever reason,i really just want nothing to do with you. And again, i do not mind people who do it, but be casual about it jesus christ. This is just my opinion, and if you strongly disagree and/or think i am stupid because of it then that is your problem.

I’ve seen this post circulating Tumblr for a long time now and whilst I do not wish to offend anyone who has had/is having suicidal thoughts, I would like to share my opinion. I completely agree that it must have been very disturbing to see a picture of yourself like this on the internet. However, it’s incomprehensible to me that this girl would be angry at someone who didn’t try to save her. It’s obvious that this girl went up there for a reason and for an onlooker (trust me, I’ve witnessed this) sometimes it’s difficult to decide whether you have the right to intervene.
I mean no offence by this, but if this girl really wanted to die then she would be grateful that this onlooker didn’t try and save her. Why would you go to the top of a building, obviously in an extremely suicidal state, threaten to jump but then call someone who didn’t try and save you “selfish”? If you didn’t want someone taking pictures of you in such a vulnerable state then why make your suicide public? Threatening to jump off a building is obviously going to draw a crowd and the fact remains that someone did talk this girl out of it. She stated that “the last thing I wanted at that moment was to be saved”, well then why does she care so much about one person not trying to save her?
My father is a Police Officer and the amount of times he has had to go out and talk kids off roof tops is unreal. This girl may have wanted to die at the time but in the long run she’s probably glad she lived. It is my opinion that people who go and stand on roof tops don’t really want to go through with the suicide but just want some random member of the public to “save” them and reassure them that life is worth living. If this is the case, then don’t bother going up there, causing a scene, and perhaps even wasting Police time. Just seriously don’t bother. If someone truly wanted to commit suicide they would do it in the privacy of their own home where they might have no chance of being saved. If you don’t want someone taking pictures of you about to jump off a rooftop, then don’t go up there and give them the chance to take these pictures. “Attention-seeking” is a phrase I’m trying to avoid in this opinion but… well, you understand me, I hope.
As I said, I mean no offence by this opinion and, this bit was cut out of the picture, someone said that this particular girl is now dead. If this is the case, then I am sorry. I hope this makes sense.
