You want to know what REAL OCD is? It’s where you obsess over something that isn’t right to you. You obsess over it. You NEED to fix it. It drives you CRAZY. It may even make you have a huge panic attack if you can’t fix it. Lots of people can’t even live normal lives because of it. Like, my brother for example. His OCD is so bad, he has panic attacks whenever he hears certain words like, “yeah, maybe, sure, nope, yup, probably” and other words like that. Do you know how common those words are? VERY COMMON. He has panic attacks over it EVERYDAY because he can’t fix it, no matter how hard he tries.
I have OCD and let me tell you right now, if I could get rid of it completely, I would do it in a heartbeat. I can’t even touch cotton (cotton balls, cotton swabs, etc). I can’t touch socks. You want to know what happens when I do? I start to rub and scratch my skin to get rid of the feeling. When I can’t get rid of the feeling, I break out in a panic attack. Panic attacks are horrible. If you think that you’re “cute” or “special” for having a “panic attack”, I hope you fucking kill yourself.
It’s not “cute” or “omg special snowflake.” It’s a real mental disorder. Nothing bugs me more than people that say things like “omg I can’t draw a straight line my ocd is acting up lol” or “the TV volume isn’t set on an even number lol I have ocd”
Grow the fuck up. Seriously.
